‘Diana Remembered’ Hosta – An October Surprise

'Diana Remembered' Hosta - An October Surprise

‘Diana Remembered’ is a medium sized hosta named after the late Diana, the Princess of Wales. As the photo shows, its leaves have begun to turn yellow and die back. Its blossoms have never appeared so late in the season – an October surprise for sure.

Highly fragrant, the tubular, white flowers can reach 4″ long and are hummingbird favorites in the summer. The corrugated blue-green leaves are slightly folded with white, creamed-colored edges. To grow well, the plants prefer bright shade.

Hosta plantaginea, also known as Plantain Lily or August Lily, is in the Asparagaceae family, native to south-central China. It, and cultivars and hybrids derived from it, are the only fragrant hostas.

Plant this one near a path where it can be truly appreciated!
