On Tuesday, February 7, 2023 – The Andover Garden Club’s February membership meeting will feature Paul McKay’s “Fallingwater Landscape,” a presentation with an emphasis on efforts to preserve the famous Frank Lloyd Wright–designed building and grounds, which have suffered the effects of time and weather.

According to the Western Pennsylvania Conservancy, which is committed to protecting Fallingwater as a UNESCO World Heritage Site, Wright designed Fallingwater as a living structure “so interposed with nature that the outside literally becomes part of the inside.”

As Edgar Kaufmann, Jr., a member of the family for which the famed architect designed the home, wrote, “In Fallingwater Wright captured the perfect essence of our desire to live with nature, to dwell in a forested place and be at home in the natural world.”

The event will begin at 10:00 a.m. with social time and refreshments, followed by a brief business meeting. The lecture will start at approximately 11:00 a.m.

The public is encouraged to take advantage of this program. A $10 donation is requested of non-members and registration is required.
